| Dominic Kirwan is proud to hail from Omagh, Co Tyrone.
Dominic’s introduction to entertainment came when he was an enthusiastic and successful Irish dancer with the much respected Seamus Kerrigan School Of Irish Dancing and was successful as an Ulster Minor Dance Champion. In fact Dominic still boasts a spring in his step and audiences still love to see him dance in his concerts.
Dominic’s first recording was a single entitled “Alice in Wonderland” released through the Homespun record label. Dominic Kirwan found success in regional talent competitions. One such success led to the recording of Dominic’s first LP “The Green Fields of Ireland” This album received considerable airplay on Ireland’s radio stations and remains something of a collector’s item.

His first major step towards the big time came in 1989 when he was signed to the Ritz record label, which boasted many of Ireland’s major recording artists including ‘Daniel O’Donnell’, ’The Furey Brothers’ and ’Foster and Allen’. This was a successful partnership lasting 15 years and saw Dominic notching up sales in excess of over 1 million albums, videos and DVDs.
| This association also gave him the springboard needed to take to the road touring the UK extensively. Every year Dominic takes on an exhausting touring schedule seeing his excellent live shows sell out the world over including Australia and New Zealand. He is also proud to have toured with some of the greats including Charlie Pride, Tammy Wynette and Kenny Rogers.
Performing live is Dominic’s favourite part of the business. He gives 100% every night and strives endlessly to put on a show with something for everyone. Dominic is very proud that his current show features two of his sons, Colm Kirwan, a fantastic entertainer in his own right and a graduate in performing arts. Also, Barry Kirwan 22, another talented young man who plays Drums and sings in the Dominic Kirwan band
Dominic Kirwan has now recorded over 15 studio albums to date. His latest ’A Little Bit More’ is a fantastic collection of hits from the 70s including Silver Lady, Love Really Hurts Without You and When I Need You. The Album was a considerable success reaching no 6 in the BBC Radio 1 Independent Label charts and No.1 in the HMV Easy Listening charts for some three weeks.
The album also marked a new chapter in Dominic’s career seeing him team up with widely experienced new management, of Robert Pratt for Chimes International whose roster includes Don Williams, Foster and Allen and Jack Jones. The album “A Little Bit More” also saw him reunited with renowned producer Terry Bradford who produced Dominic’s most successful chart albums of the 90s titled On The Way To A Dream and The Music’s Back.
He is currently taking his new show the UK and Ireland having returned from another successful trip to the Caribbean. The new show features favourites from ’A Little Bit More’ plus a retrospective look back featuring a fresh look at many of his own and the fan’s favourite songs from his back catalogue.
